Drying off chicks with pasty butt after cleaning them

After I put their butts in warm water with epson salt I towel them dry but to get them drier I like to blow gently on their butts. They like it but I wonder if human mouth bacteria is harmful. Comments? Thanks

Welcome to BYC.... I don't think you have to worry about the blowing but I would instead focus on root cause of pasty butt. It sounds like this is re-occuring and not just a one time thing? If you can provide pics of your brooder, there is a good chance that you need to turn the heat down.......

No. As long as the brooder is dry you do not have to dry them off but if you really want to it will not harm them to blow like that.
