Tried to use the color calculators, didn't fully understand. What are some possible results of crossing a Mille fleur rooster to a white hen? I will check later to see if the hen has any other genetic markers such as eye, beak and leg color if that will help. I am hoping some would come out mille fleur with a bit more white. I also assume the only real way to know is to just go ahead and hatch some out. I will post pictures of the fowl in question later or tomorrow. Thanks!

No mottled chicks will result from a first generation cross between a mottled bird and a non-mottled, however if your hen is recessive white she may well be carrying mottling or near enough anything; you have no way of knowing as that white is very good at diluting all pigment.

The only way I know of to breed a mottled bird with more white is to breed your whitest birds together over and over to enhance that aspect of the mottling. I know that getting more white into mottled birds was a major aspect of this project thread here on BYC.

If you are able to post a picture of your hen, this would be helpful. Does she have any colour on her whatsoever?

That's almost not at all predictable because you never know what type of white the hen is genetically. She could be either Dominant or Recessive

Upon closer inspection, I don't believe the hen is a D'uccle. She has a beard, she has a muff, but she also has a huge tail puff! To add to that, she has extra toes. So I am guessing shes a crossbreed and/or inbred? She does have a faint amount of light yellow/orange almost lace like on the breast feathers.

She is dominant white, rather than recessive, so half of her offspring will have that. I would expect to see more gold leakage in the offspring. If she has Colombian (which she may have a single copy of) then you could get some buff Colombian birds as your Cockerel ought to be pure for it.

Thank you for all of the replies and a beginning insight to white dominant as a trait. I dont know that she will be used for breeding at this point. I am trying to get away from barnyard mixes for a little while.
