Morning lovies! My babies have been escaping their box in the shed lately so I thought I'd let them out for some fresh air. Oh my the chickens were terrified of them!! They instantly fell inlove with pom pom and chased her all around the yard. Muscovies are hands down the friendliest feathered critters I've ever owned. Silly ducks chasing the Silkie around! :gig :love

Good morning, everyone! How’s the week going so far? My ducks are still refusing to leave the barn. It’s a good thing that it’s a big barn. They are going to have to come to terms with it being winter, or they are going to have a very boring next 4-5 months! Daphne would go on adventures if the ‘Scovies weren’t such party poopers. Maybe if those certain ducks hadn’t made such poor timing decisions regarding molting, they wouldn’t be so cold! My white Muscovy just needs to finish off growing her primary flight feathers. Her sister currently looks a bit like a duckling switching over from fuzz to real feathers as she dropped all of her feathers at once. We have already had multiple nights that had temperatures as low as 3 degrees Fahrenheit, during which I’m sure she wasn’t happy, but she’s being a trooper and is growing her new feathers as quickly as possible!

In non-duck news, my cat is currently being treated for what is likely pneumonia, but is steadily improving. Next recheck is in 2 weeks (or sooner if he deteriorates)!

Hope that you and your birds are all well!

A few pics of Niblet and Giblet, two Pekin ducks added to the family! The ones with the hard hats is photoshopped of course, a lil humor, when they were overseeing the construction of their duck house. The pool one is when they were checking the pool after being cleaned.
