My girl has a hard lump in her ear. It does not seem to bother her but it's getting bigger. I'm treating her with a broad spectrum antibiotic but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. Any advice would be appreciated.

Welcome to BYC. It could be an infection, or possibly a tumor or cyst. Could you post a picture more from the side? Have you tried to clean out the ear canal with a QTip? Dawg53 has some good advice and there are several good threads to read if you fo to the top of this page, and enter "ear infection" into the search box. I may be able to post some of those tomorrow.

Here is another pick. I think I'm going to have to do surgery to remove the lump. I would apreceate any other advice you might have

Update: I opened the ear canal up and some clear fluid came out. I then went a little further down and Lacerated the hard mass. More fluid followed. I cleaned everything with Betadine solution and topped it off with topical anabiotic. I also gave her another shot of antibiotics.

Great job. The hard mass may have been solidified pus. Sometimes people will use an antibiotic such as amoxicillin for ear infections, but you may or may not need it.Good luck on recovery. I couldn't post links in my last post, but here are some good ones for anyone else needing them:
