How well do they lay

I think the answer will vary a lot. It certainly has varied for me. I keep them for the novelty of the pretty eggs, not the consistency or frequency of their laying. I have one that is consistent and lays most days. But, she's usually the first to stop in the fall and the last to start in the spring. Mostly for every 5 eggs I get out of my reliable layers, I get 2-3 out of the EEs.

My EEs lay very well.... they lay approx 2 days outta three.

I will say last year they seemed to lay well in the heat. I agree that it varies alot.

Mine lay mostly every day, but they do take about a 2 month break in the winter while they're molting.
