EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

See above posts from me. I liked that new skin was antibacterial, but it's your call... I've got two cracked quail set right now that are patched with new skin.

Like the stuff that looks like nail polish?

Riiiiiiiiight.....
Thanks. It was a hard lesson. But it was the right thing, yes. :/

Correct - to let the air cells settle. Let them sit out for about a day, then in the incubator for a couple days. It's all spelled out in the "Shipped eggs - change of plans" links at the beginning of the thread. (I read them compulsively at the time, but can no longer quote them by heart.)

I'll go read that now. Thanks!

Alright. thank you!

Has anyone ever hatched a cracked egg?

I have hatched lots of cracked eggs. Chickens and macaws. I use liquid bandage or nail polish. They seem to work about the same. I do have to candle the egg while I'm putting on the patch so that I can follow the fine cracks that I couldn't otherwise see. If using the liquid bandage that comes in a spray bottle, I spray a little into a cap and apply it with a small paint brush.

Good morning everyone.
