I have an EE that is 19 weeks and is still not laying. Do EE's take longer to lay? She is with egg laying chics. So I know she knows what to do. LOL. Please share your experience with me. Thanks

EE have been bred/selected for color of egg rather than maximum egg production. Because of the fact that they are basically crossbred birds their onset of egg laying can be all over the place depending upon the breeds used in the mix, Generally they are quite a bit later in the initiation of egg laying than are the production breeds. Also they generally lay fewer eggs per year but are productive for more years than some of the other breeds. Be patient - she will lay.

thank you. I knew about the lack of production, color, and smaller eggs. I just was wondering if there was a general time line. I will be patient. Thanks
