Egg laying with waterbelly

I have a quick question I have a barred rock she is around 2 years old we know she has waterbelly and I was wondering if its possible she is still laying eggs. If she isn’t we don’t mind. She lays in the box like she is going to lay an egg (we have 14 chickens) and we are just curious if it’s possible. I told my kids she is just napping or maybe the pressure from the fluid makes her fill like she has to lay an egg. Thanks

Hard to know for sure if she can still lay.
Might depend on how swollen she is.
Water belly(ascites)is usually a symptom of a fatal organ condition.

Yes we are aware of what swollen belly is and that there is no cure. We are sad she has it but just going to keep her comfortable hoping if she is laying still then she isn’t as far gone with the condition. Thanks for giving me hope she can still be laying.
