Egg Peritonitis - how long before I end her suffering? Not a miracle chicken afterall :(

I'm sorry for your loss, but I'm glad that you can take some consolation from the circumstances - it was definitely the right thing to do to let her go home.

It's never easy to lose a bird, especially when they are pets rather than just livestock, but at least you know that you did the best you could for her.

Thank you everyone for all your words of wisdom and kind replies. Our chickens are working chickens and not pets (except the few I foolishly named a few years ago) but I don't like to see any animal suffer and I try to take care of all the animals we have on our small homestead. Having said that, it still is extremely hard to see one pass on, especially so young. Thanks again for being a great, supportive and informative community.
