As stated in the last post of that thread, HeadHen's crop is huge. During winter when she wasn't laying, she was "normal" or "even" looking.

I have massaged her today, and gave some coconut oil.

Yes, I have read EVERY thread on sour crop and impacted crop- more than once.

I do plan on going to store to find stool softener and micinazole.

Her comb is brightening up, and her wattles are red, so I'm assuming she's gonna start laying soon.

Feed: dumor chick starter /grower, veggie scraps but not every day, wet feed in mornings.

Normal poop under her roost spot- I checked her place last night and it's the same spot as always.

We determined she was just a bigger cropped girl. She doesn't have a smell, yet crop does seem sloshy? With pebbles like in a bean bag.

Maybe she's just unique? I'm trying what I can. If she only does this while laying, what might cause it?

She doesn't move as quickly as the other girls but she comes when food is brought, comes when I call.

Thanks

Eta: I am working on an isolation pen, all my panels are being used for a broody.

Also going to be getting yogurt and probiotics, have done this in past and yesterday, just ran out.

HeadHen is one year old

One of my older girls had sour crop bad and it was kind of a cycle I chased for a while. It’s very apparent. I have another hen who always has a giant squishy crop and I was a little worried at first but thats just how she is.

Such a pretty girl! I have 3 Austalorps. all of them have never looked "normal" in the crop area either. They all are just pretty beefy looking on one side. However, I do have a Wyandotte that is in the process of being treated for sour crop and has the same pebble like feeling in her crop. She is feeling much better now but I can still feel those little pebbles (we still haven't finished treatment though). I would honestly just keep a close eye on her if she does become lethargic and start treating her. My hen with the pebbly crop seemed normal for a while until she wasn't. She seems to have responded well to the miconazole treatment(within a few days).
