EVIL week old pullet!

Ok, first off my brooder conditions are all perfect. Tons of room, correct heat, red bulb, etc. I have never had anything like this. One of my week old pullet chicks is absolutely evil. Today I saw her pecking on every chick that she possibly could. She literally pecked a quarter sized chunk off of a chicks neck that is twice her size. It's insane. In all my years of raising poultry, I have never seen anything like this. Has anyone else encountered a chick like this before?

Too young to tell, but it's supposed to be a "she". Maybe the sexing is wrong and I'm gonna end up with a terribly mean roo. But even week old cockerels shouldn't act like that. It's very odd, that's for sure.

Oh of course. I took her out immediately. She has been cheeping like crazy, but obviously I can't give her a friend. Hopefully I can find someone to take her that'll turn her into a "pet".

if she keeps it up I would honestly just cull her, she'll make the rest of the flock miserable

Yeah, if I can't find her a home I'll probably have to do that. With 5 brooders going, and more to get ready, I don't feel like setting up another one for just 1 chick. Lol

I hope it doesn't come to that. I have a hard enough time killing adult birds. A fluffy little chick?! Ahhhh!

I'm thinking...cull....I can't imagine that all is right with that chick.I had a mean 2 week old roo,I was going to cull but a friend of my daughters insisted on "rehabbing"the chick....well, we thought it went well when they first got it...I thought her older roos had schooled him.
I found out the other day that the roo is HORRIBLE and draws blood on people!!

To make matters worse, my friend doesn't believe in butchering their own so it's there to stay...if I had known it would be like that...I'd have culled.
Just my experience....
