I don't know, LOL. I stumbled across them while researching aerial protection. Saw a youtube video of a woman who uses masonry line effectively to ward off aerial predators (she had mobile coops without coverings).

I have tried many things over the years including fishing line over my pens with CD's, and every now and then I would find a dead bird usually with it's head missing. I put a camera up and discovered the culprit was an owl. I have had issues in the past with owls, hawks and juvenile bald eagles. I finally covered my pens with good heavy duty netting and the problem was solved except I ran short so there was a section I put some crappy netting over and an owl went right through the netting. I have since replaced the crappy netting with some good heavy duty netting. The owl tried to go through the netting again but this time got caught. We managed to get it into a cage and a wildlife rescue came and got it. I have posted these pictures previously.
