I think the whole thing was based on opinion anyway since the poster asked for thoughts and opinions on the situation. Opinions are a dime a dozen (to borrow an old egg saying!) We're all in this together - we do what we are comfortable with. I merely shared my experience as a teacher because students do tend to absolutely love live creatures as a part of their daily lessons. It's a great experience for all, if the event is properly prepared for. Either way, each owner is entitled to do what they think best for their chickens.

I personally wouldn't put my chicken through all that, unless I brought her in myself.
Why don't they take a field trip to a farm where they can really get the idea of what a chicken really is, behaves, etc. Yes I know I'm not sticking to the point of the post, don't bury me!
