feeding greens

I don't know that there is really a set age for getting greens, but I would say that your chicks are definitely old enough to have them. Just start them on greens slowly so it doesn't upset their stomachs.

At about one week of age I begin giving a few 1/2 inch grass clippings, and chick grit sprinkled over the food.

Lettuce- should be fine if you give them grit or they can find it in the soil free ranging. I would chop it up very fine for them. When they are that age sometimes they will reject treats. I would offer it in small quanities.
