Fence the coop, or not to fence the coop?

We have 4 Silky hens, our backyard is one acre and we have a fence around our backyard but we are afraid that they are gonna fit through it. So we are going to move thier coop back there, So will we have to put fencing around our coop? We don't have run, as they are free ranged.

If you have a fenced in run it is there and available when the predators show up, and they will eventually show up. I would continue free ranging, but also put up a pen in case of future problems.
