It's still winter here in the midwest, so I've been trying to get my hens to eat alfalfa pellets. I've been adding it to their mix (I mix my own feed). But it seems they don't like it, because I find lots of un-consumed alfalfa pellets on the ground, in the run. Perhaps, fermenting will make the alfalfa more palatable.
