In a remote forest patch that stretched for hundreds of miles, there lived a multitude of foxes, undisturbed by humans. It was inhabited by the beautiful arctic foxes, elegant creatures of the snow. Then, one fday, the others arrived. The silver foxes came from the west, the red foxes came from the south. The three foxes lived in peace and harmony, that is, until a new alpha arose within the silver foxes, who banded them together to overtake the other two species. In a series of organized attacks, he almost wiped out the artic and red foxes.
The red and Arctic foxes are crippled and trying to regain their numbers, while Midnight Tribe flourished even more. Tensions are high between all tribes, one must be cautious.
Tribes: The three tribes are essentially just the three species. A tribe has a designated common area, where the foxes have individual dens around. The area is usually 100 square yards, and is the common grounds for each tribe.
Ranks within the fox tribes:
Leader: The leader of a tribe decides the strategies of the tribe, and all have to follow him and his lead vixen, except for Xiliths, who usually don’t live in the close vicinity of other foxes.
Spies: Foxes who are designed to gain intel from other. They are usually quick, silent and are built for stealth. Many of them die, it is a dangerous job to uphold.
Hunters: All foxes gather their own food. Some foxes assist the old or young foxes in getting food, but that’s it. Even the chief vixen and head fox hunt for themselves. Foxes are independent, and their pride does not allow themselves to take other people’s handouts.
Xiliths: these are the legendary foxes that have been markd by the Forest. They are almost unkillable warriors, who are marked by either the darkness, light, water or leaf. Xiliths embrace their element, and usually house themselves nearby the things that they have been marked by. They usually live away from a tribe’s nesting territory, even though they might be part of one. Their name has to reflect what they have marked with (like Moonight if marked by darkness). The mark is usually a small mark on their body. Only maximum of three per clan, and the mates they choose become XIliths as well. The transformation is quite painful, in which the element literally burns itself into the fox.
Pups: pups are all foxes under three moons. In order to become acknowledged as a n adult, they have to kill another fox in battle.
Scribes:Foxes who have taken the job of training the pups. They teach them how to fight and survive, and often from deep bond with them.
Healers: these foxes heal the others, using materials found in the forest
Geography: The Arctic tribe live in the foothills of a enormous mountain, in a series of caves in the bottom of the mountain. Outside of those caves is a secluded patch of trees and water, their only nearby source of food.
The Midnight Tribe live in a series of caves on the opposite side of the mountain than the Artic. Their caves have no snow around them, and are rather warm and damp. Outside the caves is the forest, where most of the hunting and fighting takes place.
The Forest Tribe, or Red foxes, live in a section of the forest that was burnt a little while back, and live in the trunks and stumps of enormous trees. They live very deep into the forest, a long ways a way from the mountain.
