I finally got my pasture pen done a few days ago with the "help" of my two-year-old son. I can still hear "Markie...hamma!"
Moving the 3-week Cornish Xs took longer than expected, but it's nice to see them on pasture. Unfortunately, we're expecting 2" of rain this evening. I put some straw in the pen to provide additional protection from the wet ground. My wife says I worry too much. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all will be ok when I go out in the morning.

make sure they are on high ground. We got 2 1/2 inches of rain today and much much water collected in the 'dips' in the yard! Hope everyone stays dry.

Same thing happened to me when I put our Red Broilers out on the 7th of this month. We ended up getting a couple huge storms back to back. They were fine when all was said and done, though. It made me realize that the side of my tractor that was solid was not necessarily water proof because of the gap between the hinged top. Lesson learned
