First Egg! When can I expect my next one?! :D

My barred rock hen, Dixie, layed her first egg yesterday morning. Was wondering how long it will take her to get in the swing of things and become a regular layer?

I'm so proud of my little Dixie!

Congratulations!! Don't you just love BR? I love mine. She is the only one of my 3 to be doing the egg squat, she just started doing it Friday. I was so excited. Anyway, don't have an answer for you but wanted to say "Go Dixie!!"

It doesn't take long for them to get in the swing of things. Maybe a week or two at the most. Congrats on the first egg and beautiful photos!

One of my 26 week old RIR's laid for the first time last Monday. She then laid every day after that until yesterday. I guess she took Sunday as a day of rest, she has already laid one this morning. Now if the rest of the 8 of my same age chickens would get the hint, that would be nice.
