It's yours to use as you please, it's just a suggestion on the part of the hatchery.

Early on in the Season (january) they let you choose the sex of your free chicken. assuming males for meat. MMMF is Meyer Meal Maker Female, MMMM would be Meyer Meal Maker Male..when I ordered I choose female. I haven't checked there site to see if you can still choose the sex. I'm thinking yes but I'm not positive. you get your free bird if you choose it with as little order of 3 chicks. no minimum. I can't wait until mine hatch/ship April 11th. I got a small order of 9 coming. all vaccinated for only .50 cents per bird and because my others are vaccinated they vaccinate the free chick at no charge! I have 7 Barred Rock females, my free female suprise breed, and one female Golden Cuckoo Maran.it seems I've waited so long. in January I choose April hatch in hopes of warmer weather. Finally next Monday they will be set in the incubator! YEA!
