First Time Chick Parents, Spring 2016

Thank you my all of mine are developing differently even those of the same breed.....my speckled sussex for example one has big developed feathers and the other still has looks like it is 3 days behind. Same with my silver laced wyandottes

We are brand new to Chickens! (I've shown Cocker Spaniels for 20 years & also have 2 Collies) I brought home 6 Silkie chicks. I'm excited to see what colors they will be! Great forum! I want to take excellent care of this little flock!

How cute, I love silkies, when I first started I got 5, one of them turned out to be a Sultan!

They'll sleep every which way. A lot of times they look like they're dead...until you see them breathing. It still gives me a mild heart attack when they do that.

I could be wrong because of the lighting, but it looks like you have one white and the rest are buff. I've got six white Silkie chicks myself...the TSC near me got a whole bunch in as their "bantam" assortment.

Well I fitted a 5 gallon bucket with four horizontal nipples for the 10 week olds today. It took them all of 20 seconds to figure them out! Yay for no more dirty water!
