Thank you everyone for your replies, I'm learning a lot! I'm thinking I might build a larger coop for over-wintering, and a separate smaller tractor to put the girls in and move about during warmer months

An excellent solution. You might find that you get tired of moving the tractor in the good weather months anyway. I did after a month. Plus when I went to visit my grandkids it was a lot easier to find a chicken sitter that did not have to move a tractor.

I find having an extra place I can temporarily put one or more chickens to be a very helpful thing. You never know what might happen.

I'm planning on getting a dog cage to use as a hospital / solitary if needed lol
