I'm on day 22 and finally I have my first pip. But it's almost in the middle of the egg away from the air pocket. What do I do?

Sounds like the chick is positioned backwards maybe. In my experience backwards chicks can sometimes hatch on their own and sometimes need assistance.

Before assisting it would be a good idea to read this article.

This article also has tons of info but I find it hard to find things cause it is so long.

You could also pop onto this thread to ask for advise, lots of helpful people there https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...riends-come-hatch-learn-chat-meet-new-friends

Hope this helps!

I have a baby chick that sounds like she's crying. I heard her all night long and today she's doing it again. She has pasty butt last few days I been soaking her bottom in warm water to clean her up. Her poop doesn't look pasty anymore it's sorda like diarrhea.. Help She seems like she's in pain.

Is the brooder warm enough under the heat? Is the food small enough for her to eat? Could you post a picture of her?

Maybe you could try giving her electrolytes or some poultry vitamins in her water. Might give her some energy.

Yes it's warm enough and yes to everything else. I wrapped her in a towel and cuddled with her and she calmed down and finally went to sleep. Wonder if she's lonely? Or has a upset stomach. She was my last one that I had to help hatch but she is 4 days old today. She's littler than the rest of them.

Every once in awhile she will purr really lightly while she's sleeping

Sorry, I don't know what it could be. Maybe she has some deficiency, or needs a bit of extra protein for a few days to catch up with the others. You could try feeding her a bit of scrambled or mashed hardboiled egg for a bit of extra nutrition.

She is very cute though.

Thank you I just made scrambled eggs and made her drink electrolytes looks like she's going to work with me. Now I got to come up with something to our her in to keep her warm against my chest while I drive..

Can anyone please tell me what is going on with her vent?
She's eating and drinking on her own but has runny poop how can I stop it?
