It really is going to depend on what you plan on stocking the tank with. A fish only tank will require a different set up than if you were planning on building a reef set up.
I wouldn't say it's really much harder, especially if you're going for a fish only tank or even a FOWLR.

I would do a reef tank. I have one I love it.

It depends, I have a 55 gallon reef tank and a 12 gallon nano reef. I love them. They are pretty easy to care for.
If you want to to a reef tank let me know I can help you with the setup. It is not hard. This may sound weird but the bigger the reef tank is the easier it is to care for.

just got my tank setup. Going do guppys in it. They are my favorite livebearer.Tank is bigger than it looks. Believe it is a thirty gallon. Plants are not real but I like their looks and they will give lots of hideing places for the babys.

Its 20 by 15 x 12. I know a shorter one would be best for guppys but it was free so I use what I have!

That sounds about right. You should do a reef tank they are so cool. This is my 12 gallon nano tank
