Floating Duck House Question

I am thinking about building a floating duck house using wooden pallets, covered with rabbit wire, plastic jugs for floatation, and perhaps a plastic tote turned upside down with holes in it for the house. If I put a nest box in the house, what are the odds of them laying in it?

How are you going to collect the eggs if they're floating away in the middle of a pond?

I'm going to have ropes tied to opposite sides of the float and anchored to the bank so I can pull it in and out.
