Found chicken

So tonight a stranger on fb messaged me because someone tagged me as they know I've got a little farm going- they found this little one and want me to rehab him/her. Any idea what kind of chicken it is? Male/Female?

Little sweetie! Looks like a mix breed from what I can tell probably around four or five weeks old at most. From the pictures you posted I am guessing a female but would need to see better photos in better lighting. May also be too early to tell for sure.

It's still a little too young to know for sure what it's gender is. It's a real cutie though.

She had a huge gaping wound on her back and one by her ear. I think she got bit by a dog. I have a crooked beak rooster who is my companion chicken. I think this baby is gonna be one too.

Little sweetheart! Now with better photos just looks like her head has not feathered in completely, the white head was throwing me! She will probably end up being all black possibly an Australorp or cross. Congratulations on your new bird and taking such good care of her!
