It does sound crazy that there's been a synergy here, but what else can I surmise, when since 2006 we had no problems at all. Both adult foxes were excellent mousers, they left huge wild rabbits & my flock alone for years. The only issue happened was that 1 recent time, after the original male was killed & the young male kit started running around like a loose Tasmanian Devil for about a month. He has calmed down & nothing has happened since, but I've only let smaller groups of chickens out, with me right there, in the mornings on my days off. No more afternoons of free ranging when the foxes are rolling around & playing, I see them an acre away. Most of the kits are grown enough to go seek new turf, as I only see mama with 3 female kits now & once they get bigger they'll probably head out, too. There's a nearby refuge with plenty of game & mates for them. The farms are being sold & they're building houses, so unfortunately soon this will all become a giant suburb
