These are what the legacy hens look like the hens have spots all over them. I will some time here get a photo of my rooster, today it is raining, so he isn't in the mood to stay still but he is a big boy, and he is so far the prettiest rooster around. I have had many people stop and ask me if I have babies like him. As the hens get older their tails turn to almost a light brown rather then the red. My oldest one when she finally passed on her tail was almost a light tan. I actually enjoy the breed a lot because the hens are so friendly. In fact I had one on my shoulder the other night while I was doing chores. They also are very smart birds. I have seen them sit and think things out before trying to do whatever it is they want to do. They do lay brown eggs, and most eggs are double yolked.
