We are new to the industry, but have been around chickens all of our lives. After 35 years, we're in the process of setting up our homestead in the SW foothills of Colorado. We have located our land, decided on what we're going to put on it, and mostly where we're putting it, and we are going to do the alpha-omega of chickens. We're looking at the specific breeds for eggs and secondarily meat. We are going to dedicate an acre of the property initially, with a small flock of around 8-10 hens first. I'm sketching a coop design to build. Underlayment will be our primary focus, followed by fencing and overhead fencing for maximum safety. Thank you for letting us into your group.
