I have a african gander with my 3 indian runner ducks. I like him with the ducks as he protects them. However I am going to get a drake for next spring and don't want the goose attacking the drake.

I had a drake last spring and the gander attacked anyone that went near the pond.

Also the gander tried to mate with the ducks and ended up causing cuts on the either side of the ducks head.

I have thought about selling the gander or buying him a mate and letting them run in a separate area away from the ducks. I would like to keep him as I have reared him but I'm in a pickle.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!

Thirding getting him a mate or rehoming him. Aside from the fact that you should never keep a single goose, even if it is with other poultry, he could very easily kill or injure your ducks. So he needs to have some females at your place or be sold to a place that can keep him with other geese.
