Well, I thought it was a bit early for breeding season here in Florida but My buff dewlap Toulouse is laying on 16 eggs as of today.

Some buff some gray. But I wanted to say thank you for the egg candling pics so we have something to go by when we candle them in a few days. They started laying around the 20th of December and I have a few laid as recent as yesterday. can't wait to see if any of them hatch. Any suggestions????

Being in Florida will help them survive better in the winter. Mama keeping that many warm will be a challenge but most likely not all will be fertile. You'll have to make sure she is caring for them. Keep us updated on what you see when you candle .

GREat to hear that someone else is hatching there goose eggs mine started around the 2nd week of dec. and i only have 2 that are doing great and 2 are 5 days old and haven't candled yet but good luck and guess what yall i am saving up for a 1,500$ incubator its one of those cabinet ones but im going to make custom signs for farms and already have and order from a friend that lives across country so its goi to be a great year and post pix of the candling eggs if u need answers and I have a very quick question when do u stop turning chinese goose eggs

With me everything is good, baby has acid reflux now, been rough on us this week shes not feeling good at all.
As for my flock its been a disaster, i wont have any brown chinese goslings or pied chinese goslings this year. I lost Bill, Mildred & Dixie to stupidity. My brother let his new GF feed them 2 pans of cornbread. Being tame like they were they ate from your hand, none of the other geese got any of it. I had told them over & over NO BREAD! City people think its cute & because of it i lost my best geese. Before i realized what had happened it was too late. Also lost my blue gosling it got out of the yard and was hit by a car. My color crossing flock is gone, all that is left is my white chinese, the tufted girls, toulouse pair, stormy & the tufted toulouse gossie. Im not very happy right now...

I am so sorry to hear about your geese, wow how heart breaking.
One of my granddaughter had acid reflux when she was a baby I had never heard of it being in one so young, what causes it? Hope you can get her some relief.

where are you in fl? @livininbrazil raised a bunch of geese this ...last year. her weather is close to ours. maybe she can give you detailed instructions if you have any questions. the farmer where i got my pils have an over load of eggs and my ducks are laying like crazy. maybe it has something to do with this year's weather ?

are you breast feeding? if your not you might consider it since she is having problems. lots of babies are allergic to all the processed crap they add to formula. you might be able to find a holistic pediatric nutritionist in your area. if you are BF, watch your own diet. i BF for 3 yrs and certain things go right through the milk.
i had to completely stop chocolate, caffeine. most sugar. dairy, and strawberries made him projectile vomit. the list goes on and everyone is different. start writing down exactly what you are eating and when.

as for the bread. it is so terrible that, that happened. I am sorry to hear about your loss of so many birds. I knew that bread is bad for them, but i didnt know it could kill them.

Over eating and milk or formula can do it. The hospital told us to feed her as much as she wanted when she wanted, also being a bit premie causes it. If she has a bad night again tonight im taking her back to the DR tomorrow.

I am breast feeding & i may have to switch her to formula if the meds dont help. I will see what the Dr says.

The geese got impacted i think, but by the time i figured it all out it was too late to try anything. With the amount they got its no wonder it killed them.

OMG I DIDNT KNOW U COULDNT FEED GESSE BREAD MY PAP BUYS LIKE 4 LOAVES OF BREAD A WEEK FOR THEM when he's here of course but either why WHY and my ducks are retarded i haven't had one since august and I got new ones and still no eggs strange right??
