So I read that he had 6 bullet wounds 3 in the arms one in the body and 2 in the head, all from the front, the last in the top of the head.
So if he had his hands up, the wounds in the arm would have been into the back of the arms. If you put your hands up to back of your arms are facing the cop. The first one in the head killed him and the second to the head was when he was falling, and entered his head from the top. The autopsy confirmed what the witness was telling the other person in the one video.

With the size of that guy, I would have shot him if he was coming at me, and shot until he stopped coming !

Evidently the report I read combined what the fellow was with him said happened and the coroner's report. Not good reporting. However, we are going to be hearing a lot more about this. Deadly force was not justified in this case. Deadly force should be used only as the last line of defense, not as too often is the case, the first. As per your comment on the last line, I am very glad you are not a police officer. The ones we have here are trigger happy enough as it is.

There is a video where there are several "witnesses" who talk about how the police shot him down for "no reason" - and in the next breath state they were in the shower, in their apartments, or whatever when the shots were fired. Which means that they actually didn't see the incident.

One video has an individual saying that he had apparently been in the car with the police officer, then run away, and then started to run towards the police officer.

I don't think anyone is going to hear the end of this one for a while. If ever.

I'm a lot less inclined to insist that it is somehow wrong to shoot an unarmed assailant. We've had people killed hear by thugs who just walk up to them and knock them down. One Asian man was killed, and the two who killed him suggested that the reason they had sucker punched him and his adult son was because they were "having a bad day." They received minimal prison sentences because they managed to persuade a jury that they really didn't know that hitting someone in the head with a fist and knocking them head first into a concrete curb could be fatal.

Jurors tend to assume that Black people are slightly less intelligent than pet rocks. Which really is racism.

If a person was rushing at you that was the size of this guy and he had already punched you, you wouldn't have shot if you had a gun ? That's vary easy to say sitting in your home.

One reason I would never be a cop is that you are out there making split second decisions for years and then one day you make a choice that others will look at as questionable, they will take months deciding that your choice was wrong, even though they have never been in your place and decide you should go to prison.

I'll tell you what. There is enough contradictory stuff coming of this confrontation to keep people who are so inclined happily stewing, debating, arguing, suing, blaming, defending, hand wringing, and second guessing for the next decade. They are welcome to it. I'm done. Not my circus. Not my monkeys. I need to remind myself of this last statement the next time I am tempted to comment on this thread. A sticky note on my monitor should do it..........

Don't bow out now. We need all the ideas out there. Eventually, we will come up with something good. The Ferguson problem is beyond us. It is best left to die, but I really don't think it will happen.

Let's move on to another topic.

So it seems that stores don't provide goods if they will lose money on the sale. I wonder how long it took the politicians to figure that out.

This system also makes it possible for the government to starve the opposition. I believe this was pioneered by Mugabe in Zimbabwe.

First take over the store and sell the goods to your supporters. Then take over the suppliers when the store shelves are empty. Then take over the factories when the warehouses are empty. Then take over the farms when no raw materials arrive on the market. The darn farms don't produce goods if the fields are not worked.

Pretty soon, everyone is equal -- equally poor and equally hungry. Isn't socialism wonderful!

Meanwhile, in Salt Lake City a Black cop shot and unarmed White guy who was not charging him or attacking him. Unfortunately, he was wearing headphones, so he couldn't hear the police commands.

There are peaceful protests in Salt Lake City over "overzealous" policing - but no looting or race-baiting.

I think there are a whole lot of cops who are undertrained and too many use lethal force as a first line of defense rather than the last. Let's see. In recent weeks and months a sheriff's deputy shot his own daughter because he thought she was a burgler. In Florida cops pumped 15 bullets into an old man who was retrieving a pack of cigarettes out of his own car which was in his own driveway, and parked in his own carport. An LAPD officer shot and killed an autistic kid who was not threatening him. And just recently a young father was shot in a WalMart. He was carrying an air gun which he had picked up off the shelf and was intending to buy in one hand, and talking on a cell phone which he was holding in the other hand. Since he was talking on the phone he probably didn't hear the officer telling him to drop the gun. He won't make that mistake again. He's dead. I don't know if these incidents are getting more common or if we are just hearing more about them now.

I read something I thought was interesting about the riots in Ferguson. Almost all the protestors who were arrested were from out of town and some were from out of state. At least I thought it was interesting.

Unfortunately, we will probably never know the truth about what happened in Ferguson. So many people have told so many tales. Worse, it seems like CNN has a death wish or a desire for a race war. They cannot let an issue go. Thankfully, they finally let go of the issue of the missing airliner.

They bore us all with their constant coverage of an issue. They beat it into the ground. Please, move on to something else. There is another whole world out there.

Tons of rockets rain down on Israel, and they are still wringing their hands over some dead kid in Missouri. Move on for pete sake. There is a war in the Ukraine, a two or three foot hail storm in Mexico City. Give us the news, not a bunch of race hatred.
