Growing mealworms

My system is a multi-drawer colony with each drawer holding a different life stage. Grain mites are a royal pain. When I first got the colony, the booming population was almost wiped out by a grain mite infestation. Since then, I've been microwaving the bedding (I use oats) for at least two minutes before I use it. No problems since and the quail like the oats too.

They are super easy to keep and raise.. I have two Tupperware‘s that I use. One for beatles, one for the worms. I feed them scraps and I line it with cereal started with 30 worms? Now I have tons.
