Generilazation of what a guinea will or wont do or eat can be misleeding because, factors like feed, space, flock size and avaliable vegitation will differ for each of us.
I have free range chickens and guineas and over 40 acres off the main road.
I have guineas for preditor alarms and tick control. They do both of those things exceptionally well and i cant imagine my barnyard without them. They are loud, funny to watch and quite the conversation piece when folks stop in.
My garden is fenced however. I would never harvest a tomato with the free range chickens.
I hand pick bugs in my garden or use organic means against them.
