Hatching Emergency- Happening right now.. need help ASAP!!

How cute! You can put a mirror in there, too, but he/ she should be fine if you put one of the other babies
in there...always better to have a chick friend. I hope they do well...we have some in the incubator
and it's the first time for us too.. usually we rely on the broodies...

I buy feather boas at the dollar store, I stock up on white and then I cut them up and make a Mama out of the feathers for the babies.
My new babies that hatched today are all snuggled up in their feather nest

...feather boas=great idea! I had one chick out of 1dozen hatch and spent several nights with it asleep in the crook of my arm.
on the look out for feather dusters too.

Chicks imprint on the first thing that moves after they hatch. So your chick must have decided you were momma. It's great that the imprint isn't permanent and can be redone so that they imprint on something else.
