Hatching shipped eggs

Anybody else trying to hatch shipped eggs this year? My goose eggs are arriving tomorrow (today actually....it's 2AM haha).

The incubator is set up and stable....I'm nervous though. Hopefully at least a couple hatch. ❤

Wait for the experienced to relpy but have read to let them sit with the with the pointy side down for a few days. There's a thread about hatching shipped eggs, try Hatching 101 by Sally Sunshine.

Oh I know. I've read so many hatching 101 type threads my head was almost spinning haha.

I'm just wondering if anybody else is hatching any shipped eggs this year so I can share the experience with others.

I just had 5 chicks hatch from shipped eggs. Should have been better but had incubator and operator (me) problems.

Things go wrong sometimes...but I'm glad to hear you did get some babies.

I just finished unpacking my eggs. They all arrived intact and look pretty good. The seller included 2 extras, so that was a nice surprise.

I hatched some quail at the end of March, and have another 120 that I put in last night. All shipped. First batch had pretty good hatch rate, so I am hoping this second batch also goes well.

I just put eggs in the incubator 2 days ago although they weren't shipped. Hope your hatch is successful!

I've never hatched goose eggs, but have hatched chicken eggs several times. With chicken eggs, let them sit for at least twelve hours at room temperature, to settle before you begin the incubation. I would imagine that goose eggs would be the same. Then be sure to follow the temperature settings for the type of incubator you use. I switched from a still air to a forced air bator this spring, and I cooked about 16 embryos in my first go at it. I'm hoping for better luck next time.
