Heat lamp inside

Okay so if u read my previous posts I've been having problems with my chicks. It's my first time and I keep loosing them! We don't have ac through our house. We have ac window units in our rooms. But not in the laundry room where the chicks are after reading through posts I'm wondering if I should even have the heat lamp on. Especially at night when they should be sleeping. Any thoughts?

How old are the chicks and what is the ambient temperature in your home at night?

They are about three weeks. And in the living room so without ac it's about 73
