New to BYC. I just started raising Coturnix quail. I was given 13 quail. From my research 10 are of the standard Coturnix, 1 TX A&M, & 2 TN reds. It's been 2-3 weeks now and haven't scene any eggs yet. I did put a light on them last week. I'm hoping to be able to raise a few and experience the whole process. Looking forward to what is to come of this. Thanks for the insight that I will learn threw this group.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm a chicken person and don't know much about quail (never had any), but definitely post on our Quail section in Other BackYard Poultry under the Forum at the top of the page and take advantage of our quail experts there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Cheers.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! I've hatched and raised some cortunix quail a few years ago and they were fab little birds to keep. Unfortunately the dig didn't like them and I had to rehome them. There is a lovely section in the learning centre on quail that you might like to check out. Here is the link ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/other-backyard-poultry-ducks-quail-turkeys-geese-etc

Wishing you the very best of luck for the future. I hope you see some eggs soon.

Enjoy BYC :frow

Hi and

- you have some good pointers already for helping you with your quail. Alas, the only thing i know about them is that they taste great on a BBQ!

All the best

All I know about quail is they are cute little birds and there are some interesting articles in the Learning Center about them.

Good luck with your little ones, hope you are enjoying them!
