Hello

Hi, I am in Virginia and new to chickens.I grew up on a farm that had chickens but I wasn't the one taking care of them so I have a lot of learning to do. I purchased 10 chicks from Tractor Supply yesterday and setup a washtub in the basement until they are big enough for a coop outside. I have 4 Rhode Island Red pullets, 4 Australop pullets, 2 Hampshire Pullets. At least that's what they are supposed to be. I am looking forward to raising chickens and learning/communicating with you all.

Hi I joined march 5 but don't see many people talking on the threads. I was wondering if anyone can help me figure out what to do with my black copper Maran rooster who won't breed with my hens?

Hi blue ridge farm. I've been raising chickens for the last seven years and a few years before that and right now I have 48 chicks that we bought and 18 out of 40 eggs that just hatched this week. If you have any questions I will try to help you with them.

Hi Chicken Crazy 11 you may want to place your question about your Maran rooster in
https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/18/chicken-behaviors-and-egglaying and see if it is something to do with the way its behaving. Someone maybe able to help you there.

Hi Blue Ridge Farms, Welcome to BYC You can learn a lot here in no time flat. If you have questions don't be afraid to ask. Someone will jump in and give you a answer or tell you where to go to get that answer.

There are also links for your own states so you can also meet and chat with people in your state. Best of luck with your chicks.
