I bought a lovely, large chicken coop for my baby chicks second hand from the feed store. I KNOW that I need more ventilation and plan to do it. I thought I would have you AMAZING people help me to identify what to do and where to do it. I’ve attached the pictures of my coop. Everything we do, we will do with hand tools and we are not too terrible handy though we can follow directions.

The promised coop pictures. The only ventilation is in the windows (picture 1). I plan on putting windows in the door (picture 2) and on the back (not pictured). Any ideas? Thanks for your help!

Yes you need more ventilation. How many birds?
Shoot for 1 sq. ft. per bird.
Just get the saw out and cut holes. Then tack hardware cloth to the openings. Then trim it out by tacking some appropriate sized lumber to the edges.

This might sound a little odd, but what I would do if I owned this coop is to take a drill for making a door handle cut and just cut out circles right below the trim on the roof, and cover it with hardware cloth.
