Help identifying red mite

Hello all,

Just found this bug in my house, completely worried, could it be red mite???

That looks like a clover mite to me. Not the same critter that tortures chickens. But let the experts chime in.

I don't have a picture but we had something that looked like that before we had chickens. They were on our tomato and pepper plants. My husband called them spider mites. Just to clarify, those are not the ones that bother chickens? I wasn't sure either...

Spider mites are agriculture pest that suck the juices from plants and spread plant diseases in the process.
