Hatch Day tomorrow.
Momma stepped on egg. Wrapped in wet paper towel. Yolk everywhere. Don't see movement. Husband says heat lamp instead? 107° out. HELP!

Yolk everywhere means bacteria have already infected the chick; a pretty hopeless situation. My advice is to clean the egg as best you can. If you have an incubator the chick has a better chance if the egg is badly damaged. Otherwise, I'd place the egg back under the hen and hope for the best. If you use an incubator watch for an external pip. An assisted hatch may well be necessary as the damaged shell is bound to stick to the chick making a normal hatch impossible. Good luck!

A day 20 egg should have internally pipped. Are you sure the egg is viable--yolk everywhere...

107 is too hot; make it 100-102.

Thank you
