Help! Sudden chicken flock death!

everything i have read says that fowl pox is slow spreading and the birds usually recover.. if this is the case then how did i go from 20 some birds to only 8 in less than 24 hours? also i watched 4 birds die in less than an hour today while i was trying to clean out their pen

Isn't there a "dry" pox and "wet" pox?

Years ago my birds had dry pox they caught from wild birds drinking their water. They all recovered and short of having black warty looking things on their combs they had no other symptoms.

I am very sorry you are having to deal with these types of losses.
