Hey guys!

I’m on my 2nd backyard flock of chickens in about 5 years. My first group of four were 3 cuckoo marans and a cream legbar. All wonderful layers.

This year we decided to donate the marans to a coworkers family and get some new chicks. We kept the legbar for her eggs and picked up 4 babes from our local farm and ranch store. All labeled as pullets as we live in city limits and aren’t allowed 🐔. Sadly, we lost Stella recently to a predator, what we think was a fox, that snuck under our privacy fence. 😭

Long story short, I fear we may have gotten a 50/50 mix of boys and girls, but I’m not solidly sure. Please help!! All are about 12 weeks give or take.

The first one that I question…Rose/Red. She/He was the last to lose her fluff but first to develop comb, comfort color, and sass. Also the most brave. Recently, her tail feathers and coloring has me wondering. She’s supposed to be a RIR and the first 3 pics.

The second is Sophia/Silver Fox. Beautifully colored “Americana” but I know is actually an EE. She/He also has 2 tail feathers that almost always seems to stand up and are pointed and pretty red in the comb, which I believe has 3 rows but not clearly defined. Also the most skittish. Has seemed to try and “crow” about a week ago.

And just for funsies, the other 2 Golden Girls, Blanche and Dorothy; and, the whole group. I’m pretty sure the final 2 are pullets.

You are correct in your gender guesses. The production red and black/white EE are both cockerels. The last two are pullets.
