Hen has bare back, frostbite concerns

Hi all!

I have a hen which has a bare back as a result of a mean rooster who has been sent to the freezer. That was a couple months ago and the hen's back is still bare. I'm worried because winter is coming, and it gets pretty cold here in Vermont. Is there a risk of her getting frostbite without the feathers fully grown back? Would you recommend I buy a sweater or something else to help keep her warm? Thanks in advance!

How old is the hen? She should go through a molt at some point and the feathers should come back. If it starts getting cold and nothing has grown back, a saddle would help.

If her feathers are not grown back in time, a hen apron would work. If you go on Etsy, you may find someone that could make one with fleece lining.
