Hen missing toe nails

My Rhode Island Red doesn't have a toenail on the middle toe of each foot - Doesn't seem to bother her, but it looks wierd ... Maybe an injury when she was a baby ??
I'm pretty new at this and not quite sure what I'm doing, but my 2 young hens look healthy, eat well, and talk a lot
Anybody have any ideas ?

I have a Rir hen with the same thing. It is a genetic condition that I don't know the name of, but it is not a major concern. It is a cosmetic defect.

One of my RIRs also has missing middle toe nails. Is it just this breed, or do others occasionally turn up nail-less?
