Nellie (my female Pekin) is the vets #1 customer. After bumblefoot came a infection that spread (or possibly started) in her hock joint (in human's that would be our ankle).
The infection was too inflammed to operate when I took her in. She had surgery (AGAIN) this past Monday. The infection had balled up into clumps like a stick of Dentyne gum. The vet saved it and gave it to me in a container. They put a drain/port in her hock joint. It comes out on either side of the joint and there is a port in that back. I have to flush the port every twelve hours and rewrap her leg. Poor Nellie. She goes back to the vet on Saturday and hopefully they will remove it at that time.
