How big are silkies?

I've never had one, so no experience here. My McMurray catalog says males weigh about 36oz, and females are 32oz.

Maybe this will bump you up so a silkie person can answer your question.

They are pretty little, all that fuzz makes them look bigger. they are a small breed, and fragile. But man are they broody boogers, some people have them just for this purpose.

In the United States they are classified as an intermediate breed. In Europe they are divided into standards and bantams. Depending on where you get your birds in the US, you may get really small birds or you could get birds half the size of standards.
