how long do surplus eggs stay good??

I recently went thru this same question with some eggs I purchased from a backyard chicken lady. Check out the thread "Are they ok to eat?". There was some great info on there, but I got so excited about doing the float test, that I tested them all and later found out that I had washed off the bloom. So I'm eating eggs like crazy to eat them before they go bad. So if you do the float test, do it at the time of use. I'm sure all of you already knew that.
