Aronia- the simplest answer would be when they are ready. But there are some clues to look for, big bright red combs and wattles

if they squat when you go to pet them, they lower their bodies to the ground and open their wings a little and if they sing the egg song which is something like bawk bawk begaw like on the Cadbury egg commercials!

When will they?

mine started at around 4 months but only a few of them. im now getting 2/8 so im guessing 3 to 4 chicks are laying

I know right! If all 5 of my hens started laying 2 eggs on the very same day I'd think someone was playing a trick on me!

oh maybe its snake eggs they can lay a bunch at one time, man wouldn't that be a surprise for a broody hen or when you opened the incubator
